Region
Veneto
Veneto wine region forms an extensive stretch of land in northwest Italy, spanning between the Dolomite alps, Lake Garda and the top of the Adriatic Sea. Encompassing two of the most romanticized cities in the world - Venice and Verona, it is also one of the largest producing wine regions, producing over 120 million cases each year. There are over 40 denominations that form part of the 'Triveneto zone' along with Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Veneto has an impressive portfolio of wines - 80% of its production is white wine - the most of any other Italian region. From Prosecco to Soave to the highly regarded reds of Valpolicella, Veneto produces some of the most famous wines in the world and some would say is the most important wine region in Italy.
