Valdeorras is usually home to crisp whites made from Godello or Albariño, but winemaker extraordinaire Telmo Rodriguez has crafted a delicious Mencia for those of you who enjoy reds from the lighter end of the spectrum. Packed full of crunchy red fruit with a vibrant acidity and with a meagre 13% ABV this is a red for quaffing with impunity.
Risky Grapes' goal is to bring the region of Valencia and lesser-known grape varieties such as Bobal and Merseguera to a wider audience. This lovely, aromatic white is mainly Merseguera with Viognier and Malvasia and has plenty of apricot and pineapple fruit. This is definitely worth trying!
