Tasting Notes
Vinous 90
The 2000 Duhart-Milon is noticeably deep in color. It has a crisp bouquet of brambly black fruit, truffle, freshly rolled tobacco and just a touch of mint. The aromatics here are impressive and exude Pauillac class. The palate is medium-bodied with suppler tannins than the aromatics augur, and austere but quite deep in the mouth, suggesting burnt toast and tobacco. Black pepper surfaces toward the finish, which lingers nicely with just a slight bitterness. Very fine.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2032
Robert Parker 92
At en primeur: superb definition on the nose. Very pure with fine cedar and pencil-lead notes. Lovely ripeness here. Fine acidity. Pure classic Cabernet. Fresh and very classy – a Cabernet lovers delight. Then after bottling in November 2004. Just a stunning 2000 that offers great value for money. A pure nose of cedar, blackberry and pine. A nose that screams Pauillac from the church tower. Well-balanced palate with good definition. Peppery black fruits with a touch of black truffle developing. Cool, refined with a long, regal Cabernet finish. From 2010.
Anticipated maturity: 2010-0
