2012 Antinori, Bolgheri, Guado Al Tasso

Vinous 95

The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso is one of the very best wines in the Antinori range. Dark, sumptuous and wonderfully expressive, the 2012 graces the palate with exceptional finesse. Mocha, espresso, plum, black cherries, smoke and menthol blossom on the rich, expansive finish. There is plenty of Bolgheri immediacy, but the growing season, which was about 20 days longer than normal, helped give the wine an extra dimension of balance. I continue to be impressed with the work the Antinori family has done at Guado al Tasso, where the flagship wine has improved considerably over the last few years. [Antonio Galloni, 10/01/2015]

Robert Parker 95

The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore Guado Al Tasso is a wine to fall in love with at first sight. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot offers enormous fullness and generosity that accompanies all the senses. The effect is seamless with thick extraction and richness that is contrasted against the tonic freshness of the fruit. The wine is creamy, soft and enduring. You can count on this vintage to age ten years or more. [Monica Larner, 28/09/2017]
