The 2013 Balestard-la-Tonnelle has a light mulberry and pine-scented bouquet, nicely defined if missing a sense of energy and tension. The palate is sharp on the entry with bitter cherry and citrus fruit, the tannin a little furry in texture but with an agreeable clean finish. Enjoy this over 3 or 4 years, no more.
