“Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from Christian Sérafin has an attractive, perfumed and quite floral bouquet with plenty of red cherries, wild strawberry and pomegranate aromas, the new oak here neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy mouthfeel, good body and a lovely spiciness surfacing toward the Mazis-like finish. I appreciate the tension and length of this Charmes-Chambertin, but it will require several years in bottle to absorb the oak. Tasted September 2017.”
