From the south of the commune—just below primer premier cru Les Cailles—comes the 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets, a rich and powerful wine that offers up notes of ripe red fruits, peonies, sweet soil tones and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied and muscular but velvety, it’s underpinned by lively acids and concludes with chalky grip. Due to hail, this parcel yielded only 14 hectoliters per hectare this year.
