Tasting Notes
Vinous 91
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru does not quite have the same composure as Jacques Carillon’s Perrières that precedes it. This is spicier, with a little smokiness, and there is a bit of alcohol blurring the edges. That said, it does gain more composure with time in the glass, and some mineralité does come through. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly oily/resinous entry, moderate depth and ample power. As such, like some of the other Pulignys, it is missing a bit of tension on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2035
