The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l’Arlot 1er Cru has an open-knit, slightly reductive nose that seems to suppress the fruit and render it a little generic for the moment. The palate is more promising with supple tannins, very well judged acidity and impressive purity with just the right amount of grip on the precise finish. Vivid, quite citric red fruit segues into spicier notes as the wine opens. I think this just requires time. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
