The Sadie Family Pofadder 2024 is a pure Cinsault from Swartland’s Riebeeksrivier soils of slate and shale, tended under Eben Sadie’s careful eye. The fruit is fermented with a portion of whole clusters and matured in foudres and concrete to preserve freshness and transparency. In 2024 it feels slightly more restrained: fresh red berries, gently floral notes, a touch of earth and saline undercurrent, all held in elegant tension. Matches beautifully with roast duck, chargrilled pork, mushroom dishes or a selection of charcuterie.
