This lovely field blend from Bierzo is, as you’d expect, made up of mainly Mencia with a bit of Alicante Bouschet in the mix, too. The Vino de Villa sees a year in 225l used oak barrels and the aromatics are beautiful. This is a subtle, refined and elegant wine and it’s pleasing to see winemakers returning to lower alcohol levels (13.5% in this case).
