The 2010 Chateau Chasse Spleen from Moulis en Medoc is a precise and classically styled wine from one of Bordeaux’s most respected vintages. 2010 offered long, even ripening with cool nights, delivering freshness, structure and definition. Led by Claire Villars Lurton, the estate favoured restraint and balance, allowing the terroir to speak clearly. Expect focused blackcurrant and damson fruit layered with graphite, cedar and subtle herbal notes. The palate is firm yet refined, with bright acidity and fine tannins carrying the finish. Still youthful but rewarding now.

Made of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet colored 2010 Chasse-Spleen gives up notes of stewed plums, baked blackcurrants and blackberry compote with hints of wild sage, leather and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the fruit is drying just slightly on the palate, and it has a sturdy frame of chewy tannins, finishing herbal.
