A classic Left Bank Bordeaux with a bit of personality. Château Larrivaux sits in the heart of the Haut-Médoc, crafting traditional, terroir-driven wines that let the vintage do the talking. The estate focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon led blends, with careful oak ageing and a light hand in the cellar, no overworking, just solid winemaking.

In the glass, the excellent 2016 vintage really shines. Expect ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, wrapped in notes of cedar, graphite and a touch of tobacco leaf. There’s a subtle polish from the oak, but it stays firmly in the background. Tannins are smooth and confident, acidity keeps things fresh, and the finish is savoury and quietly persistent.
