1. Tell us a little bit about Knife and 24 The Oval.

Knife opened in 2016 as a local steak restaurant and has grown leaps and bounds in the last 4 years. We have a loyal following who come to us for the best meat from Lake District Farmers and outstanding service from our team. We won Harden's Best Steakhouse in 2018. 24 The Oval is a neighbourhood restaurant focusing on traditional British cooking using beautiful seasonal produce. We turned 24 in to a farm shop at the start of lockdown which meant we could still supply fresh produce, meat, wine and essentials to our community. The success of the shop continues as we have renovated the space for both shopping and dining. It has become a hub for our neighbourhood and a way for people to support the farmers affected when restaurants were closed.

2. What was your childhood dream?

To see the world. I've been a few places but the rest might be on hold. At least for now.

3. If you were on desert island discs, what would your luxury item be?

Pol Roger! For me it's not so much a luxury as a necessity.

4. What is your guilty pleasure?

80's pop music. I sneak as much George Michael as I can on to the restaurant playlists.

5. Is there a book on your bedside table at the moment?

Not at the moment but I am listing to several podcasts when I'm working through my admin. Current Fave: They Walk Among US.

6. What’s the best gift you have ever received?

100% our mini dachshund Bodhi. She is pure joy.

7. What is your biggest achievement?

Building restaurants that mean something to people. Both of our places have neighbours who love and support us which wouldn't be possible with out our amazing team.
