Few names in Spanish wine carry quite the same weight as Vega Sicilia. Founded in 1864, this legendary Ribera del Duero estate produces Único only in vintages it considers worthy, with each release spending at least 10 years ageing in oak and bottle before leaving the winery. Predominantly Tempranillo with a little Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2013 is a brilliant example of the estate’s patience and precision. Rich in history, wonderfully complex and built to age for decades, this is a bottle for a seriously special occasion. Best enjoyed with slow roasted lamb, aged beef or excellent company.
