California
Driving down Cali's 101 you might hit up some of the coolest surf towns in the world, but you'll also stumble across a fair whack of vineyards too. California wine lands is the most important wine region in America, and there is much more to it than just Napa Valley. Cali is in fact the fourth largest wine producer in the world (just behind our European friends Italy, France, and Spain). With regions like Sonoma, Santa Maria and Santa Barbera spanning over 30 miles and 427,000 acres, there is a varied mix of landscape, soils, and climates. The cooler coastal regions produce high quality Burgundian style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay whilst a little further inland is where you'll find their world-renowned Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. Was there ever a better excuse to grab a Cadillac and drive down that 101? California here we come!
